Dear friends
After all that has happened to me in the last week
- good god, only a week... feels like a century! -
I honestly feel that I want, and need, to step back.
Be away.
Not forever, hopefully.
But certainly for a while.
When people you trust hurt you, betray you, and leave you fighting ghosts and shadows,
you need to step back and reconsider.
Last November,
chargebacks were iniciated on the credit card I had used to make my scrapbooking purchases.
They were not intentional,
but a by-product of that card having been abused,
and that being a standard police procedure in my country.
As soon as I was aware of this, I iniciated the long, painful and expensive process
of reversing each and every single of these chargebacks.
This is done by printing the affidavits PayPal supplies the links for
- one link for each chargeback, one affifavit for each one -
filing them, and faxing them to the nearest PayPal office.
In my case, that was Ireland.
It was done.
I have proof of that, and I scaned all those affidavits and uploaded the scans
to my account in 4Shared, for anyone who might want to see them.
During all this process, I kept writing to the affected store owners,
asking how it was going, if they had received my emails confirming my actions, and if they had already received their money back.
Some kindly replied, and fortunatelly all went well.
Some never sent a word.
By February, I honestly thought all had been paid,
having been told by PayPal and by Visa International many times
that I had done all that I could, and could do no more,
and having received no further communication from anyone.
Last April, after months of offering freebies on my blog, I replied to a few Designer Calls and was accepted by Country Style Designs, Digi-Shoppe and ScrappinDreams.
I was so happy.
I uploaded my products to the stores,
took part in the collaborations,
advertised on my blog.
I thought all was well.
A week ago, someone that goes by the name of Cosete
emailed the stores I was selling at.
I don't know what she said, I was not given that information.
I know that 2 days later I was asked to leave by all 3 stores,
based on a "credit card scandal you were involved in last November".
I asked to be told who it was that still had problems with that, since I was more than ready to rectify them.
Two of the stores refuse to disclose any details, one store revealed 3 names.
I immediatelly wrote to them.
With one of these designers, the problem is solved (thank you dear friends, you know who you are!).
The other two NEVER WROTE ME BACK.
What kind of people accuse me behind my back of owing them money,
and then don't even reply when I offer to repair it???
And then one last accusation surfaced:
I am accused of sharing designers files.
Since this is all I have been told, I take it it means that I have been sharing the products I have purchased.
It is a vile lie.
And yet, Lori Giles has left a comment on the previous post on this blog stating it,
and emailed me further confirming that, and I quote:
"There are plenty of emails from other designers and store owners out there to prove you are not on the up and up and that you are sharing designer files on the internet."
Unfortunatelly, no one shows me any of this.
No one confronts me with any evidence.
It's always other people who know, who have proof, who can tell, and these other people never have names.
So, at least for a while, I will step back from this community.
I don't like what I see, or hear, or feel.
It sickens me.
I can, however, leave you some freebies.
So please enjoy.
